The task to do the interior work is dependent on both the plastering being finished and the roof being on therefore the equation that ProjeX produces for its start date is "=MAX(G14+1,G18+1)", i.e. it cannot start until the end of which ever is greater of the ends of the tasks it is dependent on.

We now have all the dependencies but before generating the Gantt chart we need to tell ProjeX to use them. Under the 'General' tab of the 'Display Properties' dialog select the 'Use dependencies ...' box, also while we have the 'Display Properties' dialog open lets change the display axis to weekly rather than daily (under the 'Display style' tab). Now we can generate a Gantt chart and all our dependencies will be used.

 

From the 'Display Style' tab of the Properties dialog we can set ProjeX to display the dependencies using arrows to connect the bars.

 

If we want to look at the Gantt chart on a month by month (or yearly) basis we can use another WAA product PlaneX to plot the tasks.

 

We can take this one step further and generate and calculate the critical path ...
