Using ProjeX

I get the message "There are too many columns to Excel 95! Exiting." when using over 60 tasks

The problem is not with the number of tasks but the duration of the project and time axis you are using. Under "ProjeX Properties" select "Gantt Chart Display Properties", set the Display time axis to weekly and you should be able to add the extra tasks.

Later versions of ProjeX automatically switch to the next time axis 'up' (not available with the freeware version).

I want to change the way tasks are calculated but ProjeX tells me I can't

A lot of task manipulation is now handled from the 'Task Definition' option, this is one of them.

I changed the way ProjeX calculates tasks and now I have 'circular references'

Earlier version of ProjeX allowed the user to generate a ProjeX sheet with tasks defined by the start date and duration and then change this to start and end dates. This led to circular references. These circular sheets can be recovered. See the above answer for how you are meant to change the way tasks are calculated.

How do I create milestones ?

1. If you are calculating tasks based on start date and duration (the default) then simply set the duration of the task to zero.

2. If you calculating tasks based on start and end then leave the end date blank.

Alternatively use the 'Task Definition' option.
