We can now add resources to the resource workbook using the edit/update option from the Resources menu

This brings up the Add/Edit dialog (after telling us that we currently have no resources in our file)

Because this is a new resources file we have no resources available, by clicking on the 'Add new Resource' button we can start adding some. The resource abbreviation is what will appear on the ProjeX sheet next to the task, the resource itself can be specified as available 24 hours a day / 7 days a week (for example a computer that can run all the time) or specific hours a day (an office worker might have an eight hour day with no hours at the weekend). The cost of the resource can be defined as an hourly, daily, weekly or monthly rate or as a total cost.

We might also want to add which team (or group) the resource is from, for example the geophysicist might be based out of the Houston office and the computer in London. From the 'Add/Edit Resource' dialog we have the option to add teams which we can then allocate to resources. Resources can then be added to the appropriate team.

Resources can be added or deleted at any time using the above dialog.

For this particular example we will define 5 resources [Senior Geophysicist, Junior Geophysicist, Computer (64 nodes), Client, Manager].

Having specified our resources and their cost (if you are not going to do costing calculations then this is not critical) we need to allocate them to tasks.
